there's this guy dressed in black a mariachi (antonio banderas - once upon a time in mexico) who hitches a ride into town. he's got a guitar case full of weapons and a score to settle. he cruises into a local bar and opens fire he's looking for bucho (joaquim de almeida - behind enemy lines), but no-one's talking. also in town is the mariachi's partner (steve buscemi - armageddon) and the sexy carolina (salma hayek - wild wild west), who help him, the mariachi, take on bucho's hitmen the searing heat in a small town santa cecilia is only eased by the supercool soundtrack and a cameo appearance by on quentin tarantino (kill bill, pulp fiction) equipped with a serious fx budget and studio production team, el mariachi director, robert rodriguez, continues the story of his mexican mariachi.
