'vj day' (2005) celebrates the final victory over japan in the second world war, with archive footage and interviews with surviving veterans. from the japanese attack on pearl harbour in december 1941, to momentous battles such as midway, guadalcanal and the burma campaign, the allies fought over vast distances and against a tenacious foe in order to achieve victory. 'd-day - the 60th anniversary' (2004) looks at the planning behind the dramatic events of d-day, as well as the day itself and its monumental impact on the course of history.
